Ear Candling

Sometimes called ear coning, it’s about the smoke, ear candling is simply a catalyst to clear the respiratory system:

  • Helps clear sinuses
  • Help clear lymph glands
  • It vacuums off nerve endings in the ear canal
  • Vacuums out the Eustachian tube

Q: How does it work?
A: The ear candle is a muslin cloth covered with bee’s wax. Smoke spirals into the ear canal from the small end of the candle with some force. The fire at the wide end looking for more oxygen gently draws through the small end which is sealed in the opening of the ear canal.
A wonderful side effect is deep relaxation, it stimulates the anti stress acupuncture point in the auditory canal. You see its effect on hyperactive kids as well as adults. Candling will also help the body to move out excess wax deposits. Ear wax becomes dry and leaves the canal in tiny balls. We help the process by using warm olive oil.

OTHER WAYS TO HELP YOUR EARS

Olive oil lubricates mucus membranes. If ears are stopped up try a few drops of warm olive oil in affected ear for 5 minutes lying down on the opposite side, then turn over and let it drain out. For earache try soaking a cotton ball in olive oil with 5 drops of lavender oil, keep it in your ear until you feel relief.
Drink water as much as you can stand, it keeps mucus secretions thin
Gargle lemon and salt in warm water, it will shrink mucus membranes
Sinus relief – squeeze the toes or the soft padding on the toes, the same goes for the hands
The ear reflexes on the hand are located just below the ring and pinkie finger
The ear reflexes on the feet are located on the padding under the small toe and the one next to it
The Eustachian tube reflex – runs along the padding of the palm at the base of the fingers
